2012 - The Jubilee
Christow's Jubilee celebrations went off very well and in dry weather for 3 events, just the walking quiz was rained off on the Tuesday. Some 50 people young and old participated in the fun run, receiving a medal for their efforts on Saturday. Sunday saw a celebration in St. James Church, followed by a big lunch on the recreation field, a hunt for the 60 diamonds for the Queen's crown, a football match between Christow Palace and Village Youngsters, and a presentation of Jubilee mugs by the chairman of the parish council, Tom Archer, to those aged 16 and under. On Monday afternoon, the road was closed between the Artichoke Inn and the post office, with tables laid up for tea, cream teas, cakes and Pimms, all of which was consumed amidst great hilarity and NO RAIN. Plenty of flags and bunting decorated the village too.
